Nice Girls vs. Kind Women

I read this today (after Joy the Baker recommended it in her weekly and always amazing 'Let it be Sunday' post), and it really struck me. I definitely know what this feels like, to have been raised in a way where putting others' happiness before my own was more important. To always be aware of others' feelings, and subordinate my opinions and thoughts so as not to 'upset' anyone. Well, this blog post, and the past few days, have inspired me to really commit to reversing this behavior that's been ingrained in my mind. I'm going to try and be kind, instead of waiting and hoping that OTHERS will find me 'nice'. I'm tired of being the 'nice girl'. Here's to kind women - may we be them, may we raise them. And thank you, Asia, for writing this post.
